Students of The Thorp High School Employability Skills class, which is taught by
Rayna Sherfield, were busy practicing teamwork, planning, time management, and
in this case money-counting skills for their community service project, which
deemed many winners!
Erica Jo Hallin and Trenton Denman proudly delivered $1,527.38 to the Stanley
Tornado Relief Fund that was collected from a Hat/Pajama Day along with a Penny
War held at the school.
The top Elementary donation was received from Mrs. Klapatauskas class and earned
extra recess time for their efforts. The Middle and High school students battled
to throw a Pie in the Face of the staff member of their choice. Both groups
chose the very popular principal, Mr. Foster for the honors.
Thank you to all the students and families who put their time, talent, and
resources into making this project a success. A special thank you goes to Mr.
Foster for being such a good sport while taking multiple pies in the face in
order to support our neighboring community. Way to go Cardinal Nation!
