The Granton Future Farmers of America Soil Judging Team placed second among 588 teams in the soil judging contest Tuesday at Farm Progress Days. The four-man team accumulated 921 points. The first-place team from Lancaste finished with 944 points.

Members of the Granton team were Brenda Garbisch, Jay Hales, Tim Parker, Gary Grassman and adviser Francis Steiner.

The team from Cuba City was third with 920 points.

Cindy Busche, Colby, placed third in senior individual competition.

Paul Muhlenbach of Kenosha County took first place in the 4-H tractor driving contest Tuesday. The second and third place were from Fond du Lac and Trempeleau Counties respectively.
