Eder, George M. (3 APR 1871 - 29 Apr 1918)

After having spent the last two years of his life in the hospital, death mercifully came and lifted the burden from George M. Eder, a former resident of this city (Colby, Wis.), who passed away at Fond du Lac on Monday of this week. The immediate cause of death was paralysis, but death has been daily expected by his relatives for some months.

Deceased was in his forty-seventh year, having been born in the town of Farmington, Washington Co., on the third day of April 1871, and came to this vicinity with his parents about forty-two years ago.

Prior to going to the sanitarium two years ago he had resided at Fond du Lac for about 13 years and was one of the best known conductors on the Soo Line.

Of immediate relatives he leaves a wife and one son, Otto, a father, George Eder, of this city, three brothers, Henry, who lives in the town of Hull, John and Joseph, residing in Pennsylvania, and one sister.

The remains were brought to this city Tuesday afternoon and the funeral services were held from the Methodist Church, Rev. H. c. Hall officiating, and interment was made in the Colby Cemetery.

Relatives from out of town who were here for the funeral were Mrs. A. Eder, Fond du Lac; Mrs. Albert Hecker, Appleton, and Miss Helena Tessmer, Chicago.
