Eighty-nine year old, Edward J. Gunia, of Spencer, Wisconsin, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998 in the Colonial Center Nursing Home, Colby, Clark Co., Wisconsin. He was born Oct. 11, 1908.

In 1973, Edward retired from the Soo Line Railroad after a career of 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Estella (Schweke) Prehn Gunia, Spencer; a daughter, Ruth Berghammer, Arpin; a son, Clarence Gunia, Vesper; a stepdaughter, Diane (Gerald) Rinehart, Loyal; a stepson, Allen (Nancy) Prehn, Wausau; three grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; four sisters, Anna Fellinger, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Rose Kendra and Stephania Figure, both of Las Vegas, and Mary Skaleski, Longwood; a half sister, Tillie Zdrojkowski, Thorp, and a sister-in-law, Clara Gunia, Spencer.

Visitation will be at Community Funeral Home, Spencer, Wisconsin and services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Burial will be in the West Spencer Cemetery, town of Sherman, Clark County.
