Francis M. McDonald

Neillsville -- Francis M. McDonald, 64, Route1, Taylor, a former Neillsville area resident, died Monday in Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. The Rev. Howard Ott, of United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, and until services Friday.

He was born Oct. 3, 1918 in Champaign, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas (Victoria Webb) McDonald, and was educated there. He farmed in Illinois for serveral years, and then moved to a farm near Sparta. Later he moved to Wood County to farm for a short time before moving to Clark County, where he farmed in the Granton and Neillsville areas. About seven years ago he moved to Taylor, where he was employed as a mechanic for Peterson Implement in Whitehall.

He married Gladys Bishop Jan. 18,1941 in Thomasboro, Ill. She survives; along with fours sons, David and Larry both of Neillsville, Gary of Marshfield, and Robert of Wisconsin Rapids; his mother, Mrs. Victoria McDonald in Illinois; two sisters, Kathleen of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. William (Leona) Berminham Jr. of Rantoul, Ill.; one brother, Thomas of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; and 14 grandchildren.

he was predeceased by his father, a daughter, Pamela K., a brother, and a sister.
