Elsinger, George (1 Sep 1875 - 22 Mar 1915)

Mr. John Elsinger returned last week from Hartford where he attended the funeral of his brother. Following we repeat a clipping from the Hartford Times:

"Mr. George Elsinger Jr., a well known farmer residing near St. Lawrence, died quite suddenly last Monday evening, March 22, 1915, of apoplexy, shortly before 6 o'clock, age 39 years, 6 months and 21 days. Mr. Elsinger was taken ill during the afternoon while getting ready to make a trip to Mayfield to have some feed ground. He complained of having a severe headache and was compelled to take to his bed. Dr. Rogers of this city was immediately summoned, but upon his arrival he had already become unconscious and remained so until the final summons came.

Deceased was born at St. Lawrence Sept. 1, 1875, and was married to Elizabeth Conrad on Nov. 19, 1897, since which time they resided on the farm where he died. He is survived by his wife and five children, four girls and one boy, the latter being about five years old. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Elsinger of this city, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Joseph Mueller and Mrs. Anton Schuh of St. Lawrence; Mrs. Barney Katzfey of the town of Hartford; John of Loyal, Clark County, Wis.; Henry of Sparta; Barbara, Cal.; Severin, Joseph and William of the town of Addison, and frank, a student of the Seminary at St. Francis.

The funeral was held this morning at 10 o'clock from the home to the Catholic Church in St. Lawrence, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

The death of Mr. Elsinger came as a severe shock to his family and relatives, and also caused deep sorrow among his friends. He was a kind and devoted husband and father and an affectionate loving son and brother. He was well liked by his many friends and acquaintances, all of whom sympathize with the family and relatives in their bereavement.
