Captain Armstrong and Foster are presently serving with the United States Air Force in Europe, 20th Tactical Fighter Wing at RAF Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, England. Captain Foster is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John W. Foster, Neillsville and is a 1970 graduate of Neillsville High School. They became engaged recently while in Athens and will be married in Hillsboro, Ohio on September 14. The couple plan on making their home in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England for the next year.

Eddy, Mary Katherine (27 July 1985)

Pastor Paul Forde officiated at the wedding uniting Martin Robert Mashin and Mary Katherine Eddy, as husband and wife, on July 27. The 3:00 p.m. ceremony took place at the Calvary Lutheran Church, in Neillsville. Pianist Mrs. Cindy Penker and soloist, Mrs. Paul Forde provided music. Parents of the couple are Rosella Burlingame, of North Dakota; William Gohde of Merrillan; and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mashin, of Neillsville.

Diane Milnthorpe, of Black River Falls, served as maid of honor. Carolyn Wallace, of Neillsville, and Cindra Aumann of Tomah, were bridesmaids. Mark Gilbert of Neillsville, served as bestman. Marvin Mashin and Gary McDonell, both of Neillsville, were groomsmen. Ushers were Russell Gohde, of Beloit, and Randy Roehl, of Neillsville.

Pictures were taken by Rick Gohde and Tony Schultz.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Neillsville American Legion Hall.

The bride is a 1979 graduate of Black River Falls High School. A 1977 graduate of Neillsville High School, the groom is employed at the Neillsville Foundry.

Thiel, Borghild A. (30 August 1985)

Borghild A. Thiel became the bride of George H. Humke, on August 30, during a 2 p.m. ceremony held at Neillsville Memorial Home. Rev. York, of Greenwood United Church of Christ officiated at the service. The couple are both residents at Memorial Home.

With pink flowers in her hair, the bride wore a street length, long-sleeved gray dress, accented with a pink and white corsage. Attending the bride was a friend, Cheryl Bornitz, Black River Falls.

The groom was attired in a black suit with contrasting white shirt. His lapel held a pink carnation boutonniere. His attendants was Douglas Felix, a friend from Greenwood.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the recreation room of the Memorial Home.

A former teacher, the bride, is now retired. The groom is also retired, and was previously engaged in farming. The bridal couple met originally about seventy years ago.
