I am trying to find information regarding Peter GROSS born March 1856, in Spurkenbach, Germany. He arrived in America in May 1881 and settled in Anoka, MN. He was murdered on Augl 16, 1885. According to a newspaper report, a Joseph QUAST of Jefferson, Wis., a cousin of Peter GROSS, arrived in Anoka and attended the funeral. I cannot be certain but I think that Joseph QUAST who was born 3 Augl 1857 and died 22 Mar 1942, May be the cousin of Peter GROSS mentioned in the newspaper article. I know that when Peter GROSS first arrived in America he stayed with Joseph SCHWELLENBACH and his family on their farm in Jefferson, Wisconsin. I believe the SCHWELLENBACH's are also relatives of Peter GROSS. Also staying with the SCHWELLENBACH's at the same time was Joseph HOEFFER, friend of Peter GROSS. I would be interested in any information you have that may confirm the family connections.
