Scheel, Henrich C. F. (24 FEB 1840 - 6 JUL 1911)

Died, on Thursday, July 6, 1911, Henrich Carl Friedrich Scheel of the town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis., from a tumor of the stomach. On June 26th he went to Rochester, Minn. to seek relief, but to no avail.

The deceased was born on Feb. 24, 1840, on the Island of Rugen, Germany, and married Miss Sophia Gade on Oct. 17, 1868. In 1875 he came to America with his wife and three children and settled in Dodge Co., Wis., where he worked as a farm hand for nine years. In 1884 he moved to Clark County, Wis. and purchased eighty acres of wild land, which is now a model farm, and lived there up to the time of his death.

At all times, under all circumstances he walked in the well beaten path of righteousness and when fully conscious that he was nearing the last of earth, he appeared to be fully impressed with the idea that at the end of time eternity began.

He leaves a wife, seven children and nineteen grandchildren. Three of his children died before him when he lived in Dodge County. The living children are W. B. Scheel of the town of Green Grove, Clark Co., Mrs. B. C. Haslow of the town of Sherman, Mrs. Ella H. Komis of this village, Mrs. Emma Haslow of the town of Sherman, and Otto, Rudolph and Robert Scheel of the town of Loyal.

The funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock and the remains buried in the Lutheran Cemetery.
