Regina Lasiewicz

Regina S. Lasiewicz, age 84, of Thorp, died at her home on Thursday, December 6, 2001.

Funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2001 at St. Bernard’s-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. Father John Puerner officiated and burial followed in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Lublin. Pallbearers were: Ted Jorin, Paul Lasiewicz, Robert Marshall, Jeremy Malecki, Jeffrey Wieckowski and Benjamin Lasiewicz. Visitation was held on Monday, December 10, 2001 at St. Bernard’s-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Regina Sara Wozniak was born on September 15, 1917, in Milwaukee, WI, to Casimir and Aniela (Markowski) Wozniak. After graduating from high school, Regina worked for Schiltz brewery for a few years. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Lasiewicz on June 10, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI. She raised her family in Milwaukee and after her children were grown, Regina went back to school and took some business and computer courses. In the early 1970’s, they moved to Thorp after buying a small hobby farm. Her husband, died on December 27, 1975. Regina continued to live on the farm until 1977, at which time she built a home in Thorp and resided there until the time of her death.

She was a member of St. Bernard’s-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, its PCCW and a Homemakers Club. Regina was also active in the American Legion and was part of the "Hobo" Band, in which she participated in many parades. She also had many interests, but especially enjoyed playing cards, gardening, crocheting, sewing, visiting with friends and traveling. At one time she took a trip to Europe and visited her ancestor’s homes.

Regina is survived by three daughters: Sally (Leonard) Wieckowski of Muskego, WI, Bernadette (Wesley) Marshall of Owen, WI, Benita (Theodore) Jorin of Lebanon, OH; three sons: James (Linda) Van Skyhock of Hales Corners, WI, Boleslaus (Kathy) Lasiewicz of Stone Lake, WI, Benjamin (Caroline) Lasiewicz of Hartford, WI; 25 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one brother Boleslaus Wozniak on New Berlin, WI; two sisters; Mary Daiminane of Apple Valley, CA and Agnes Keehne of Oak Creek, WI.

She weas preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ben: a great granddaughter Makaylia Lasiewicz; two sisters: Victoria Reid and Josephine Gorton.

Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
