Another Independent Candidate

To-day we announce the name of Mr. H. Draper, of the town of Loyal, as an independent candidate for the office of County Superintendent of Schools, which he becomes on a call signed by his friends and neighbors, as published, together with his acceptance of the same, elsewhere in this issue. Of Mr. Draper’s claims to or qualifications for the position for which he is now a candidate, we are not at all acquainted. He was a prominent candidate before the Republican convention held at this place a short time ago, and would probably have been its nominee but for the efforts made by the friends of Miss Burt, to whom the nomination was given. He would undoubtedly have made a good run had he been nominated by his party, but as an independent candidate he will hardly draw. This "independent" business has been getting overdone.
