Capt. Tolford and Mr. Watson are getting up a very nice hearse. Their enterprise supplies what has long been needed.
Mason Goddard’s machine shop, at North La Crosse, was destroyed by fire last Saturday. Loss $3,500. No insurance.
Mr. J. B. Jones has taken the place vacated by Mr. Kirland, in Hewett & Wood’s office. Mr. Jones is a first-class accountant, who can fill the place to perfection, even with a sore thumb, with which he is at present afficted.
