Lamovec-Hueckstaedt, Bertha (10 May 1918 - 11 JUN 2003)

Bertha Lamovec-Hueckstaedt, 85, Rock Dam, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, June 14, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal. The Rev. Kevin Hanke officiated. Burial took place on Monday, June 16, in Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst, Ill.

Bertha Hagen was born on May 10, 1918, in Globe, to Herman and Mary (nee Wahl) Hagen. She was raised on a farm and educated in the Globe school. As a young woman, she moved to Chicago to work. She married Albin Lamovec on Dec. 22, 1942. They lived and raised their family in Chicago. Her husband died on Jan. 17, 1977. She married William "Max" Hueckstaedt on May 20, 1978, in Chicago. They lived in Chicago until the early 1980s, when they moved to Rock Dam. She lived there until entering the Neillsville Memorial Home in 2002.

Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie (Robert) Kuehnau, Elk Grove Village, Ill.; two sons, Lawrence (Janice) Lamovec, Chicago, and Donald Lamovec, Minneapolis; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Thoma, Berlin.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Albin Lamovec; her second husband, Max Hueckstaedt, on July 17, 2002; three brothers, Herman, Gus and William; and one sister, Lillian May.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.

my father: Leroy Charles hueckstaedt//born in Chicago in 1916// two uncles Charles hueckstaedt and E.Hueckstaedt also from Chicago...Charles moved to McHenry ill. e.hueckstaedt moved to Wisconsin. their sister e. hucekstaedt died at the age of 21 leaving two daughter and a husband. she passed away from a brain tumor..was treated for mental illness because of her actions..her autopsy found the brain tumor... Leroy was in business in the chicago are for years...making precision gages.. e. hueckstaedt in Wisconsin was a farmer..... Charles hueckstaedt was a machinist...these boys father was also Charles hueckstaedt...he died at the age of 40 from pneumonia...don't know his occupation.. for a detailed account of the family you need to contact, by letter, to dawn/Mocko/Hueckstaedt i will give you her address if you contact me... I'm interested to see if these hueckstaedt are related. I have not studied genealogy much..but i have to start somewhere..thank you for any information you May have...there is a hueckstaedt family plot in Chicago.i can get you the name and address of this cemetery if you are interested....thank you anita/huckins/hueckstaedt my father Leroy and his wife Alice/Kostecki/hueckstaedt are buried at lake street memorial cemetary in Elgin Illinois..(it May be in bartlett, illinois///both towns run into each other and I'm not sure of the dividing line between Elgin and Bartlett. the Leroy Hueckstaedt retired to oxford Wisconsin.
