Personals

CAPTAIN ORVILLE MILLER—Forward
"Mike," the long, rangy, short-shot artist, will be lost to us this year,
and with his graduation the team will lose its coolest and most collected
veteran. "Mike" could be depended upon for his share of the points and at
the same time pilot his men to their best endeavors.

LLOYD RANDALL—Forward
We will have to credit "Buck" with being the speediest man on the
squad, playing a steady, consistent game throughout the season. This was
"Buck's" second year on the squad and we are glad to announce that he will
be with us next year. Watch him go next season.

ALBERT WEISBROD—Guard
"Al," a veteran of two seasons, will be leaving us this year, and will be
greatly missed next year. His defensive work was beyond reproach as was
testified in the games he played. On the offensive he could be depended
upon to do his share in the plays and get them across clean.

FLOYD CLIFTON—Guard
Our pillar of strength on the squad this season was personified in
"Cliff." On the defense he was especially strong, generally completely
wrecking the opponent's offensive and usually coming through with two or
three long, clean shots. This was "Cliff's" second year on the team and we
would be very glad to have him with us again next year.

JOHN BONK—Center
This being "Jack's" second year on the team he demonstrated conclusively
that he knew the business °I-pivoting. He was always good on
the defense, allowing nothing to go by him, and he could be counted on for
a substantial number of points. "Jack" will form a powerful nucleus
around which to build a team next year.

ARMAS PELTO—Forward
The highest- tribute we can give "Arm" is to call him "The Fighting
Finn." Always ready and willing to do his bit both on the offensive and defensive
he proved himself, thereby, to be a big factor in upholding the
morals of the team. Armas graduates in June.

THEODORE KITZE—Forward
The smallest in size was "Tux," but for agility and speed he was in a
class by himself. Although playing for the first time on this year's squad
he proved, beyond a doubt, that he knew the game. The Kitze-Randall
combination next year will be one to be feared.

Girls' Basketball Activities.

Girls' Line-up

Personals

IDA FOX, Captain and Center
All through her four years of high school, Ida has played a reliable
and consistent game of basket ball. In her position at center she has kept
the ball almost constantly in her forward section. Ida played well both on
the offensive and defensive, and it will be hard to find anyone to fill her
place. We certainly shall miss her.

CHARLOTTE STRYK, Guard
When the ball passed by center down to the guard section, Charlotte,
one of the Seniors, was there to help keep the opponent's from scoring.
She is dependable and quick, and played a very good defensive game. Charlatte's
and her colleague's success in keeping down the opponent's score
helped us to gain victory in many a hard fought game.

SELMA HERZBERG, Forward
The heaviest scoring of our team was done by Selma. She has a good
eye for the basket, and has 'M decided advantage over her guards because of
her height. Selma and Lila Weaver, our famous "Mutt and Jeff" combination
of forwards worked very well together. As "Jeff" is leaving us, we are
scouting around for her double.

SELMA JOHNSON, Guard
Selma will be one of the girls who will make the backbone of our next
year's team. All through the season she has played a good, steady game,
and will be a valuable asset to the next team.

LILA WEAVER—Forward
Lila, a Sophomore, has earned by constant practice her position as
forward. Her agility and alertness, combined with her good aim, made up
for her disadvantage in size. We look for good work from her in the future.

THE "SUBS"
Stella Switalski and Amelia Sorenson didn't have such a good chance
to display what they really can do. We can rely on them though, to help
maintain the record of this year's team.

All the girls who came out for basket ball deserve much credit for the opposition they

gave the first team. It was through their faithfulness and good sportsmanship that the team

could play a succession of strong opponents with no defeat, and but one tie score.

We will have good material to select from next year.
