Susan Richmond and Amy Horn, both of Greenwood, were awarded $300 scholarships recently. Richmond, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Richmond, Greenwood, won the Clark County Extension Homemakers scholarships. She will be a senior this fall at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, majoring in nursing. Horn, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Horn, Greenwood, won the 4-H and Extension Homemakers scholarship. She will be a sophomore at UW-River Falls this fall, majoring in veterinary medicine. The two students competed with 22 Clark County youths. Their selection was based on their applications, recommendations, transcripts and essays on why they wish to study in their educational fields. The Extension Homemakers scholarship alternate is Karen Metzke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Metzke, Greenwood. The 4-H and Extension Homemakers scholarship alternate is Judith Heindl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Heindl, Dorchester. Money for the scholarships was earned by Extension Homemakers at the Clark County Fair Dairy Bar and by 4-H leaders through platbook sales.
