Courier (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 11/09/1916 Smith, Frances
(1850? - 4 NOV 1916) Mrs. Frances
Smith, widow of the late James Smith, suffered a paralytic stroke
upon retiring at her home Thursday night last and as a result died
at an early hour on Saturday morning. Mrs. Smith was sixty-six
years of age and had been a resident here (Thorp, Clark County,
Wis.) for thirty-five years. She was a good woman, always willing
to assist in cases of sorrow, of which she herself carried a
burdensome share at times during her life. She leaves to mourn one
son, Ben McCarthy of this village, and three daughters, Mrs. R.
Plecity of this village, Mrs. Phoebe McDonald of Portage and Mrs.
Louis Goss of Gibson, Ill., all of who were present at the funeral.
She also leaves a sister who resides in North Dakota. The funeral took
place on Monday morning from St. Bernard's Church, Father Neises
officiating, interment following in the Catholic Cemetery. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
