100 YEARS AGO

Marriage licenses were issued to Peter H Bast and Adaline A Crowell; Martin Bernhard and Catherine Sadowska; Bruno Miniat and Mary Ryterski.

M. Greisch bought Ole Christenson’s dwelling and 5 acres.

Mr & Mrs. Ben Tupper had a daughter.

M. Wiltgen bought Jos. Ludwig’s farm.

Mr & Mrs. Peter Sorenson had a son April 13th.

Geo. Irish killed a litter of 7 wolves last week for a bounty of $42.

Chas. Adams and Eva Sheldon were wed on April 13th by Rev. Bachman.

The Finnegan Bros. carpenters and contractors have a number of contracts. Nick Baldeschwiler, 1 barn; Ed Heller, 1 barn completed; Bernhard Frese, a barn and residence; John Boie, a barn; Geo. Banderob, an addition; John McGrogan, a barn; Jerry Asselin, a farm residence; and Herman Banderob an extension on his harness shop.

75 YEARS AGO...

Mr & Mrs. Sylvester Lozynski had a son April 6th.

B.G. Splinter and Jenny Schmidt were wed and celebrated on April 6th.

E.F. Heidemann bouth Bernard Frese’s home.

Verne Peet bought John Hill’s property which is currently occupied by Fred Eppers who is moving to Charles Hoffman’s farm.

Emmet Wilhelm returned from St. Mary’s College on Monday.

J.N. Schroeder bought 40 acres from Delbert Burss last week.

A. Seaman and family who were living on Bernard Frese’s farm moved to their own home in the village last week.

Norman Craig bought 1 acre of land from A.A. Barr.

Mr & Mrs. W.A. Wilhelm received a telegram that Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Wilhelm of Fresno, CA had a baby girl April 5th.

Ellery Holzhausen and Marion Aucutt were wed April 5th.

Adeline Gonyo and Robert Broersen were wed by Rev. A.M. Mucherheide has Friday.

Mrs. Frank Bertrand died April 5th in Marshfield.

50 YEARS AGO...

Mrs. Stanislaus Kapszukiewicz, age 71, died April 5th in Chippewa Falls.

Ignatz Wisniewski, age 83, died April 2nd in Stanley.

Glen Wry died at his home in Milwaukee.

Mr & Mrs. Alis VanDenHeuvel had a son on April 4th in Stanley.

Mr & Mrs. Floyd Brenner had a daughter on April 6th.

25 YEARS AGO...

Mrs. Henry Balicki, age 59, was found dead in her home.

Mr & Mrs. Donald Buss had a son on April 2nd.

Mr & Mrs. Don Laager had a daughter in Chippewa Falls.

Justin T. Schultze, age 7, died while riding his bicycle last Friday.

Mark Osowski, son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas R. Ososwski, was selected to represent Thorp in apply for a foundation $1200 scholarship.

William Graham, age 28, was killed in a car accident on April 11th.

Antonette Prokopiak, age 85, died April 11th in Chippewa Falls.

Joseph Kaliscewski, age 74, died at his home in Roosevelt on April 9th.

10 YEARS AGO...

Walter Abramovica, age 69, died April 15th in Stanley.

Robbie Schesel’s family lost the home and its contents in a fire last week.

Daryl Braatz received the first Annual Outstanding Adviser of the year on April 13th.

Lester Emil Reineke, age 80 of Eau Claire, died April 7th.

Wayne Broeren, age 58 of Champaign, IL, died March 26th in Ft. Meyers, FL.

Ernest Beyrels, age 92 died April 19th in Marshfield.

Karl J.L.Herzberg, age 86, died April 5th in Eau Claire.

Janice Banaszynski, age 49, died April 11th in Marshfield.
