Schultz, Frank (2 FEB 1842 - 10 Jan 1895)

Frank Schultz, a farmer residing about a mile northwest of the village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), lost his life about 11 a.m., on Thursday last, while in the woods chopping near his home. He had cut two trees which became lodged in a third and in falling this one he was struck by a log, killing him instantly. He was born in Germany feb. 2, 1842 and immigrated to this country many years ago, settling at Milwaukee, where he was married. Nine years ago he moved to a farm near Sterling, Clark County, where he continued to reside until last fall, when he removed to his present farm northwest of this village. He leaves a wife and nine children: Lizzie, Mary, Amelia, Bertha, Albert, frank, Len, Willie and Eda, the latter being but two years old, the first three named being married. The funeral occurred from the residence on Sunday last and was conducted by G. Poppe, Mr. Schultz having been a member of the Lutheran Church.
