Mrs. August Franz Obituary (1939) Mrs. Alvina (Noah) Franz was born on December 10, 1871 in Town of Herman, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. At the age of two years she came with her parents to live in Clark County. She became a member of the Immanuel Reformed Church by the rite of confirmation on April 18, 1896. On January 8, 1891 she was united in marriage with August Franz. They settled on a farm in the town of Warner which has since been her home. To this union seven children were born. Her husband preceded her in death on February 1, 1932. Mrs. Franz was a member of the Ladies Aid and for many terms supervised the cemetery work of the Ladies Aid. She was a kind and loving mother and devoted to her home. Mrs. Franz lived a very active life but her health began to fail about a year ago and her condition became worse after a severe fall last spring. She entered St. Joseph's Hospital Tuesday, January 17. She was called to her eternal reward Saturday evening, January 21, 1939 at the age of 67 years, 1 month and 11 days. She leaves to mourn her death five sons and two daughters; Calvin of Owen, Wis; Fred, Adolph, Otto and Harold of Sidney, Mont; Alma (Mrs. Otto Fravert) and Leona (Mrs. Alvin Albert) of Greenwood, Wis. She also leaves to mourn nine grandchildren and two brothers, August Noah of Greenwood and Simon Noah of Loyal, WIs. During the funeral service at the church the choir sang the songs, "Nac Der Heimath sueszer Stiller" and "Sweet Bye and Bye. The pallbearers were Albert Miller, Otto Wehrman, Gustaf Abel, Ed Schwarze, Albert Schwartz, Ed Steiger. Those who had charge of the flowers were Leroy and Orlin Fravert, Ms. Adolph Wendt, Mrs. Dave Churkey, Miss Elise Able, Miss Bernice Schwarze. Friends and relatives from away who attended the service were; Fred Franz, Adolph Franz, Otto Franz, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Franz of Sidney, Montana; Mr. and Mrs. Simon Noah and sons George and Rudolph of Loyal, Mrs. Carl Arnhoelter, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Arnhoelter, Mrs. Jake Burchardt, Miss Lydia Knoener, of Plymouth, John Kippenhan of Appleton; Miss Gilda Kippenhan, Mrs. Eberhardt of Neillsvillle, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Burchardt of Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schwarze, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laube, Mrs. Dave Churkey of Owen; Mrs. Chas. Albert and sons, Arnold and Edward of Junction City, Wis. Funeral Services were held Thursday afternoon, January 26th, 1939 from the West Side Reformed church with Rev. P. H. Franzmier officiating. The body was laid to rest in the West Side Cemetery.
