Shober, Caroline (30 Mar 1910 - 16 Jan 2003)

Caroline Shober, 92, Neillsville, formerly of Loyal, died on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to a 1 p.m. memorial Mass on Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Terri Zupanc, Scott Zupanc, Tim Zupanc, Joe Zupanc, Robert Gregorich and Francis Kohlnhofer.

Caroline Zupanc was born on March 30, 1910, in Willard, to Frank and Mary (nee Horvat) Zupanc. She married Casper Shober in 1937 in Willard. They farmed in the Loyal area until 1959, when they built a home and moved into Loyal. She resided at her home until entering the Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville, in August 2002.

Survivors include one sister, Mayme (George) Gregorich, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Bernie Zupanc, Loyal; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Casper, in 1984; four brothers, Victor Zupanc, Joe Zupanc, Frank Zupanc and Tony Zupanc; and one sister, Ann Dub.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
