Hagedorn, Louis J. (30 Mar 1924 - 6 Dec 2002)

Louis J. "Louie" Hagedorn, 78, Neillsville, died on Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at the Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 9, at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Globe. Music was provided by Karen Hoppa, organist. The Rev. Kevin Hanke officiated. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chad Hagedorn, Dirk Hagedorn, Josh Hagedorn, David McDonald Jr., Dallas Thoma and Pat Murphy. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Hagedorn, Daniel McDonald, Dean McDonald and Mike Murphy.

Louis John Hagedorn was born on March 30, 1924, in Neillsville, to Paul and Meta (nee Wegner) Hagedorn. He attended the Fairview Grade School in rural Neillsville. He married Elaine Lois Oldham on June 10, 1945. She died on July 8, 1989. He later married Viola Hause on March 30, 1996.

He farmed for many years in the town of Weston. He also hauled milk and operated a freight delivery service in Neillsville until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Globe.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Hause-Hagedorn; his children, four sets of twins, Diane L. Murphy, Neillsville, Donna L. (Dave) McDonald, Neillsville, John (Nancy) Hagedorn, Neillsville, Jerald (Connie) Hagedorn, Minneiska, Minn., Lois (Ronald) Oldham, Granton, Louis A. (Lois) Hagedorn, Neillsville, Bonnie (Rick) Thoma, Neillsville, and Bruce (Beth) Hagedorn, Neillsville; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Julius (Henrietta) Hagedorn, Neillsville; a brother-in-law, Calvin (Rita) Oldham, Land-O-Lakes; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Hagedorn, Neillsville; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Elaine; and brothers and sisters. The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville assisted the family with arrangements.
