Bowen, Dale L. (20 MAY 1937 - 12 NOV 2002)

Dale L. Bowen, 65, Owen, Clark County, Wis., formerly of Curtiss, died on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, in the emergency room of Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 15, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 16, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Curtiss. The Rev. Lauren Ley will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Curtiss. Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Dale Lester Bowen was born on May 20, 1937, in the town of Hoard, Curtiss, to Lester and Ida (nee Gayken) Bowen. He graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1955. He later joined the U.S. Army National Guard and Reserves. He then resided in Milwaukee, where he worked for 10 years at the Pabst Brewery. After being diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease, he returned to Curtiss to be near family and friends. He assisted his father at Bowen Hardware and Dairy Equipment before moving to the Clark County Health Care Center on Oct. 6, 1992. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. His interests included playing baseball as a young man, hunting, and following the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Les and Hilda Bowen, Curtiss; two daughters, Traci and Toni; one sister, Idell Myre, Owen; and one brother, Dennis (Patti) Bowen, Wausau.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Ida Bowen in 1961.

Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
