Long, Betty Jane Newman (Marriage - 16 Feb. 1946)

Wedding vows were exchanged by Betty Jane Newman Long, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Serman Long, Curtiss, and Harold Roohr, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Roohr, Owen, Saturday, morning at 11 a.m. in a simple wedding ceremony read in the Curtiss Congregational Church. The Rev. C. S. Mathews officiated.

For her wedding the bride wore and entrained white net dress and carried a bridal bouquet in her arms. Her sisters, Dorothy and Lorraine, in pink net frocks with wrist corsages of spring flowers, were maid of honor and bridesmaid.

Donald Roohr was his brother’s best man and Cameron Smith served as groomsman.

One hundred guests were entertained by at lunch at the Curtiss Town Hall where the bride’s table was centered with a wedding cake flanked with white candles. That evening a dance was held at the hall.

After they returned from a two weeks honeymoon they will reside at Owen with the groom’s parents. Mr. Roohr is a cheese maker and his wife had been employed at Thorp.

Guests attended from Loyal, Nekoosa, Wisconsin Rapids, Withee, Curtiss, Janesville, Dorchester, Owen and Unity.
