Schaffer, Nick (12 Aug. 1875 - 13 June 1967)

COLBY, WIS. - Nick Schaffer, 91, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday at his home in Colby.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church here with the Rev. John Pinion officiating. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The body will repose at the Lulloff Funeral Home from this evening (Thursday) until the time of services. The Christian Mothers Society rosary will be conducted there at 8 o’clock tonight and a general rosary at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Schaffer was born Aug. 12, 1875, at Hilbert, and was married there in 1906, to Mary Camper. The couple later came to this area and farmed in the town of Colby until their retirement in 1946, when they moved to the city of Colby.

Mr. Schaffer had served as supervisor for the town of Colby for many years.

In addition to his wife, survivors are two sons; Rueben, Duluth, Minn.; and Lester, route 2, Colby; a brother, Jacob Schaffer, Vancouver, Canada; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
