Obit: Pribbernow, Martha (Sept. 6, 1896 - Apr. 1979)

WITHEE - Mrs. Alvin (Martha M.) Pribbernow, 82, Withee, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Havenet Nursing Home, Owen.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Rev. Douglas R. Groenewald officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Grandsons, Duane, Larry, Roger, Dennis, Tom and Bruce Pribbernow will be pallbearers.

Friends May call after 4 p.m. Friday at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen.

Mrs. Pribbernow, the former Martha M. Hannemann, was born Sept. 6, 1896 at Grover township, Marinette County. She was married to Alvin Pribbernow Aug. 20, 1918 in the town of Green Grove. He died in August 1960.

They had farmed in the town of Hixon and she later worked as a cook in hospitals in Sheboygan and Milwaukee. She came to Withee in 1962. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Szczesniak, Mrs. Eugene (Lucille) Santala and Mrs. Frank (Betty) Halida, all of Withee; seven sons, Ruben of Marshfield, Charles and Alvin, both of Owen, Earl of Milwaukee, Benjamin of Cody, Wyo., Donald of Thorp and Robert of Sheboygan; a brother, Robert of Peshtigo; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Loucks of Peshtigo; 45 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Two brothers are also deceased.
