Obit: Smith, Mrs. Eda (Jan. 17, 1994 - Mar. 4, 1963)

LOYAL - Mrs. Eda Smith, 79, route 1, Loyal, died at 2:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been a patient the past two months.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Myre Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Doering, pastor of the Loyal Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Friends May call at the funeral home beginning Tuesday noon.

The former Eda Johnson was born Jan. 17, 1884, in Christina, Finland and came to the United States a the age of 19 with her parents and settled on a farm in the town of Beaver. She was married to Alfred Westerberg in 1904 in the town of Beaver. Her second marriage took place in the town of Beaver in 1909 to Henry Smith, who died in 1948. After her marriage, she lived on various farms near Loyal.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Segre) Treankler, Milwaukee and Mrs. Roy (Aleda) Damitz, Cudahy; two sons, Henry, Greenwood and Lawrence, Loyal; three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ted (Hilda) Hill, Dixon, Ill.

In addition to her husband, three sisters, three brothers and a grandson preceded her in death.
