We, the perioperative staff at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, Ca., were shocked and saddened to hear that Sandee has passed away. She was an outstanding nursing leader, very professional and caring. Her sense of humor was very much appreciated, she could lighten tense situations. Sandee was very supportive to all her employees. I haven't known Sandee very long but in that short time, we became friends. We talked about her many adventures, garage sales, street fairs, her husband, Darv and their totally spoiled cat. I introduced her to my family, she really enjoyed my three grandchildren. When her contract with Palomar was finished, we planned to stay in touch. In fact, I sent a special package to her the first week of Aug, not knowing that she had already passed away. I'm sure that she knew that it was sent with love.
