Bertha Eunice Dallman, 97, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at Colonial Center, Colby. Following a 10 a.m. visitation, a memorial service wii be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, rural Greenwood.

Bertha Eunice Metcalf was born on May 25, 1908, in Hayward, to Levi and Clara (nee Vollrath) Metcalf. In 1911, they came to the Greenwood area and lived on a dairy farm 12 miles northwest of Greenwood. She attended the Oakland Grade School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1927. She attended teachers training school at Neillsville and graduated in 1928. She taught for three years at Braun Settlement and Oakland. She married Benjamin Franklin Dallman on June 1, 1931, and they moved to New London. They lived there until 1933, when they moved northwest of Greenwood and farmed until 1967. They moved to Greenwood in June, and Ben died in the fall of 1967. She continued to live in Greenwood and worked at the Greenwood Pharmacy and Cooperative Services in the hardware department for several years. She moved into Colonial Center in August 2001. She loved entertaining and playing cards with her friends. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting, gardening, crafts, music, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a charter member of Zion United Church of Christ and the women’s guild. She was a charter member of Jolly Homemakers and served as clerk for Oakland School.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Karen) Dallman, Greenwood, and Allan (Linda) Dallman, Greenwood; two brothers, Dale Metcalf, Plymouth, and Everett (Bernice) Metcalf, Yuma Ariz.; foster brother, Lynn Blecha. Clearwater, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Rhonda (David) Thompson, Middleton, Timm (Julie) Dallman, Greenwood, Brenda (Troy) Thomas, Lisa (Pat) Susa, Greenwood, Benjamin (Valerie) Dallman, Eau Claire, Wayne (Michelle) Dallman, Chippewa Falls, and Barbara Dallman, Eau Claire; 11 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces; and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Benjamin; her parents; one brother, LeRoy Metcalf; foster brother, Lee Blecha; and foster sister Elmira Blecha.
