Witt, Elmer (8 March 1900 - 17 Oct. 1983)

Loyal - Elmer Witt, 83, Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, formerly of Loyal died at 10:10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. He had been a patient there since Oct. 12.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal. The Rev. Joseph R. Kraly of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal will officiate. Burial will be in Loyal Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Walter Seegar, Walter Wucherpfenning, Walter Hoosver, Gerald Schwantes, Larry Kadolph, Harvey Witt Jr. and Russell Haslow.

Visitation at the funeral home will begin after 4 p.m. today, and Wednesday until service time.

He was born March 8, 1900 in Outagamie County, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Alvina Knaack) Witt. He received his education in Clark County Schools.

Mr. Witt farmed in the towns of Loyal and Beaver and later moved to Abbotsford where he was employed part-time at the Stricket Lumber Co. He moved to Loyal in 1970 and resided there until entering the Clark County Health Care Center two years ago.

His first marriage was on June 15, 1923 to Emma Lange, she died in 1927. He married Meta Haslow Oct. 28, 1936; she died in November 1982.

Survivors include two brothers, John of Alexandria, Minn.; and Harry of Abbotsford; and three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Elda) Lebeck of Marshfield, Mrs. Hilda, Laufenberg of Milwaukee and Mrs. Edna Degner of Green Bay.

He was also predeceased by two brothers.

Elmer Witt

Funeral services for Elmer Witt, 83, formerly of Loyal, who had been residing at Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, were at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 1983.

Mr. Witt died at 10:10 a.m., Monday, October 17, 1983, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Reverend Joseph R. Kraly officiated at the service at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal. Interment was in the Loyal Cemetery.

Elmer Witt was born to Fred and Alvina (nee Knaack) Witt, on March 8, 1900, at Outagamie County.

He was married to Emma Lange on June 15, 1923. She died in 1927. On October 28, 1936, he and Meta Haslow were married. She died in November 1982.

He farmed in the Townships of Loyal and Beaver. He later moved to Abbotsford and worked for Stickert Lumber Com. He came back to Loyal in 1970, where he resided until entering the Health Care Center.

Survivors include two brothers, John of Alexandria, Minn., and Harvey of Abbotsford; three sisters, Mrs. Fed (Elda) Lebeck of Marshfield, Mrs. Hilda Laufenberg of Milwaukee and Mrs. Edna Degner of Green Bay.

Serving as pallbearers were Walter Seeger, Walter Wucherpfenning, Walter Hoover, Gerald Schwates, Larry Kadolph, Harvey Witt Jr. and Russell Haslow. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.

Preceding him in death were two brothers.
