Weyer, Cecelia (20 DEC 1922 - 7 Jul 2005)

Cecelia Weyer, 82, died on Thursday, July 7, 2005, at her home in Spencer. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 11, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel officiated. Burial was in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Tripoli. Pallbearers were Jeff Weyer, Kurt Witmer, Travis Knauf, Tyler Knauf, Dustin Dix, and Aaron Weyer.

Cecelia Tasse was born on Dec. 20, 1922, in Marshfield to Benjamin and Nellie (nee Steffen) Tasse. She married Richard Weyer Sr. on June 6, 1944, at Corpus Christi Church, Bakerville. She was a homemaker and farm wife in the Loyal area with her husband. In 1977, they moved to Pier Lake, where she was a site manager for senior citizens’ meals for several years. In 1991, she moved to Spencer. She was a caretaker for the elderlt in Pier Lake and Spencer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, especially working with flowers. Family get-togethers were special to here. The "special" baked goods and treats she sent home (especially at Christmas) were special to her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Harry) Witmer, Spencer, and Lori (Donald) Knauf, Wausau; five sons, Donald (Rosanne) Weyer, Sun City, Ariz., Gerald (Valerie) Weyer, Buffalo, Minn., Eugene (Betty Ockerl) Weyer, Marshfield, Allen (Kathy) Weyer, Spencer, and Walter Weyer, Loyal; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brenda (Tom) Dix and Brittany and Dustin, Tammy (Jay) Halfacre and Drake and Kacela, Renee (Kevin) Locke and Sage, Chris Weyer and Conlan, Kim (Chad) Bauer and Grace, Leah and Elise, Terri (Scott Satersmoen) Witmer, Kurt Witmer, Alicia Weyer, Amanda Weyer, Jessica (John) Koopman and Victor, Venessa, Lauren and Charity, Jeff (Holly) Nikola, Ashley and Samantha) Weyer, and Jade, Sarah (Andy) Firkus and Hunter, Aaron Weyer and Conlin, Ashley Weyer, Travis Knauf, and Tyler Knauf; step-grandchild, Lisa Newton; two sisters, Delores Czaikowski, Stevens Point, and Innocence Rhodes, Marshfield; and two brothers, Gregory Tasse, Aurora, Colo., and Sylvester Tasse, Marshfield.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Richard Sr.; two sons, Richard Weyer Jr., and Benjamin Weyer; her daughter, Lisa Weyer; and two brothers, Edwin Tasse and Cyril Tasse.

Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.

The family wishes to extend appreciation to the Ministry Home Care Hospice staff for all the caring and support shown to our mother and our family.
