Reeves, William (28 Mar 1826 - 9 OCT 1888)

Died, at his residence in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., Tuesday evening, Oct. 9th, 1888, of malignant cancer, William Reeves, in the 63rd year of his age.

Mr. Reeves was born in Devonshire, England, March 28th, 1826. He left his home when but eleven years of age, and at that early date began life of a seaman, which he followed for eleven years, visiting nearly every known country of the world. In 1848 he settled in Marquette, Co., Wis., adopting the life of a farmer. In Dec. 1857 he was united in marriage with Eliza A. Griffin who survives him. He moved his family into the town of Hull, Marathon Co. in the year 1876, where he has since resided. During his residence in that town he has made many friends by his sturdy honesty and the energetic manner in which he has minded his own business and attended to affairs on his farm. He had many friends who will miss his genial, quaint ways, and all of whom will deeply sympathize with the mourning family. The wife of his bosom and three children are left, of the immediate family, to mourn his loss. One son, John, the eldest, living near Bath, Dak., and expected here tonight. Henry and one young one residing at home.

The funeral will occur at the M. E. Church tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock, with Rev. J. Dix officiating.
