Merlin C. Delo, 76, Loyal, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at the House of the Dove, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 24, at the Loyal United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mary Anne Conklin officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Krug, Allen Meyer, John Wiese, Kory Moline, Kurt Lobacz and Scott Geiger.

Merlin Clarence Delo was born on Jan. 21, 1929, in the town of Beaver, to Henry and Rosa (nee Wichman) Delo. He was raised on the family farm, received his education at a country school and attended Loyal High School for two years. He married Nancy Colby on Jan. 21, 1956, in Neillsville. He resided and farmed in the town of Beaver until retiring 1991. He continued to live on the farm until the time of his death. He had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his family, playing baseball and softball in his younger years, following Chicago Cubs baseball and auctions.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy, Loyal; one daughter, Audrey (Randy) Reading, Grafton; three sons, Randy Delo, Bradenton, Fla.; Clay (Margie) Delo, Loyal; and Scott (Christina) Delo, Loyal; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Rick Delo in 1995 and Shannon Delo in 2005; two daughters, Cheryl Delo in 2003, and Susan Delo in Infancy; one granddaughter, Jessica Delo in 2003; a daughter-in-law, Doris Delo in 1995; two brothers, Victor Delo and Jerome Delo.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal assisted the family with arrangements.
