Ervin Meissner Dies at Age 71

Ervin S. Meissner, 71, of 1420 S. Palmetto Ave., died at 2:20 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Hospital following a stroke.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Leketas officiating. Burial will be made in the Corpus Christi cemetery at Bakersville.

Mr. Meissner was born March 4, 1896, in Racine County, and when a child came with his parents to the Nasosnville area. His marriage to Margaret M. Kaas took place April 13, 1920, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church at Bakersville. In 1932, the couple moved to Greenwood where they had farmed until 1943, when they moved to Neillsville. Since 1962, they had made their home in Marshfield.

Mr. Meissner was a member of the Holy Same Society.

In addition to his wife, survivors are three sons, Arnold Meissner, route 2, Stratford; Hilbert, Random Lake; and Gerald, Marshfield; four daughters, Mrs. William (Lucille) Wilsmann, Hewitt; Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Zschernitz, Marshfield; Mrs. Melvin (Rose) Zschernitz, Marshfield; and Mrs. Merlin (Lorraine) Sternitzy, N. Fond du Lac; two brothers, Arbie Meissner, Milwaukee; and Earl Meissner, Marshfield; and 36 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and three brothers.
