Handke, Selma (Marriage - 7 Oct. 1933)

Miss Selma Handke, daughter of Paul Handke of the Town of York, was married Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. to Clarence Sternitzky, at the American Lutheran Church parsonage, Rev. J. G. Buth officiating.

The bride was beautifully attired in wine silk flat crepe and carried a bouquet of asters and carnations. Miss Clara Sternitzky, maid of honor and sister of the groom, wore a pretty gown of brown flat crepe and a belt bouquet of mixed flowers. Leslie Lewis, Loyal, a friend of Mr. Sternitzky, acted as best man.

A wedding supper was held at the home of the groom’s parents for 18 of the families’ close relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Sternitzky went on a honeymoon trip to Rochester, Minn., returning Oct. 11. They will make their home on the Louis Sternitzky farm.

On October 4, a miscellaneous shower was held at the Sternitzky home where the young couple received many beautiful and useful gifts. On Oct. 6 a shower was held at the bride’s home where many fine gifts were received. On Saturday night, Oct. 7, a free wedding dance was given in the Lynn Bowery.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Sternitzky are well known and have a host of friends who join in extending them congratulations.
