Scheel, Ernest W. (4 June 1884 - 23 Nov. 1933)

Ernest W. Scheel, formerly in the creamery business in this city, died Nov. 23 at Portage after an illness of a week.

Mr. Scheel was born at Globe June 4, 1884, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Scheel, both of whom are now deceased. Mr. Scheel was married in 1908 to Miss Petra Kinn at Brill, three children being born to this union: Helen, Leonard, and a son who died in infancy. Mrs. Scheel died in 1919. In 1924 Mr. Scheel was married to Mrs. Ruth Sullivan at Marshfield, after which they made their home in Neillsville several years where Mr. Scheel managed the Neillsville Milk Products Co. until 1925. After leaving Neillsville Mr. Scheel managed several creameries before moving to Stevens Point. When taken ill Mr. Scheel was managing an ice cream factory at Portage.

Mr. Scheel is survived by his widow and his children Helen, Leonard and a step son James, seven sisters, Mrs. W. B. Thomas; Mrs. Mary Dudei, Mrs. Edward Ballard of St. Paul; Mrs. Edward Gall, Mrs. Theodore Kalsow, Mrs. Clara Korn of Seward, Nebraska, Mrs. W. H. May of St. Paul and a brother Louis J. Scheel, Peshtigo.

Mr. Scheel was a thirty-second degree Mason and took an active interest in lodge work. He was a man of high integrity and made friends while situated in this city.

Those who attended the funeral on Nov. 25 at Turtle Lake, beside the close relatives were E. Ballard, Theodore Kalsow, Elizabeth Korn, W. H. May, Mrs. L. J. Scheel, Arthur Thoma and many other friends and relatives.
