Bevier, Sarah J. (5 Dec 1860 - 28 Dec 1879)

Died, in this village (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), on Sunday evening, the 28t inst., of child bed fever, Sarah J., wife of S. A. Bevier, aged 19 years and 23 days.

Death, cold and relentless, has again entered our midst and taken from among us, one of the finest and fairest ladies of our village, and made sad and desolate, a home that had been looking forward to a bright and happy future.

One short year ago we chronicled the marriage of Mr. S. A. Bevier and Miss Sarah Wilms. No couple ver started out on life’s voyage with brighter and fairer prospects than did they, but, those prospects are blasted; the spirit of the wife has been ushered into the presence of her maker, and all that is left for the bereaved husband is the cold and lifeless form of the one he loved so dearly, and the infant daughter, brought into the world at so terrible a cost, the life of its mother. As the years roll around many such changes are wrought, the reason or wisdom of which none can see or know, but the All-wise Providence, who rules over our destinies.

The afflicted husband has the deepest sympathies of his many sincere friends, not only in this village, but all along the line of the Wis. Central.

The funeral services will take place at the schoolhouse this p.m., and it is hoped that all friends of the family will attend.
