Frome, Edwin L. (8 APR 1895 - 26 Augl 1977)

Colby, Wis. - Edwin L. Frome, 82, of Colby, Wisconsin, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday at the Veteran’s Hospital in Tomah.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby with the Rev. Robin O. Fink, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after 2 p.m. Monday at the Rux-Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Mr. Frome was born April 8, 1895 in the Town of Colby, Clark County where he received his education. He married Lydia Schumann Dec. 12, 1917 in Green Grove, Clark County.

He owned and operated a farm and Frome’s Dairy for many years. Mr. Frome was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army in Argon Forest, Germany.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was a former elder and a member of the men’s club. He was treasurer for the Dill Creek School for many years and also a member of the VFW Huber Bruesewitz Schmidt Post 2227 of Colby and the Colby American Legion 226, Raymond Firnstahl Post.

Survivors include three sons, Edwin of Appleton, Glenn of Antigo, and William of Abbotsford; two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Marion) Mellinthin of Colby and Mrs. Donald (Lennice) Barr, Milwaukee; two brothers, Theodore of Colby and Henry of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, one daughter, one son, two brothers and one sister.
