Holt, Hilda E. (2 Sept. 1914 - 31 March 2005)

NEILLSVILLE -Hilda E. Holt, 90, of Neillsville died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

Funeral services for Hilda will be at 11a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton. Pastor Keith L. Lueneburg will officiate. Music will be provided by Marjorie Dahl, organist.

Interment will be in Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Gesche Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Hilda E. Holt was born Sept. 2, 1914, in the township of Grant, Clark County, the daughter of Carl F. and Emilie A. (Roder) Krause. She attended Roder Grade School in Grant township. Hilda was united in marriage to Merton D. Holt on June 18, 1934, in the town of Grant. For many years she worked as a homemaker, raising her family. She also worked for Modern of Marshfield in upholstery for 19 years, retiring in 1979.

Hilda was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton. She bowled for many years, enjoyed her flower gardens and doing embroidery and making woven rugs and card games with family. She spent many summer days enjoying time at Spooner Lake with her family. She also enjoyed watching her cardinals and collecting figurines and pictures of cardinals.

She is survived by five children, Harold (Joan) Holt of Sheboygan, Robert (Pat) Holt of Spooner, Gerald (Ruth) Holt of Spooner, Joyce (Jonas) Schommer of Racine and Carol (Ronald) Boushon of Neillsville; and 10 grandchildren.

Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Merton; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and seven brothers, Oscar Krause, Ewald Krause, Reinhold Krause, Carl Krause Jr., Louis Krause, Martin Krause and Edward Krause.
