Kolpien, John (1 SEP 1911 - 17 Dec 1992)

Cadott, WI - John Kolpien, 74?, Cadott, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 1992, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

He was born Sept. 1, 1911 in Thorp, to Clause and Mary Ellen (Everson) Kolpien. He married Gladys Arneson Jan. 23, 1937. Following their marriage they lived and farmed in the town of Edson, Chippewa Co. He also worked at Chippewa Woolen Mill for 12 years, worked construction on Highway 27, and also worked in the woods for John Lacina. In 1974 they moved to Cadott where they have since resided.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; five sons, John "Jack" (Sue) and Jim (Linda), both of Boyd, George (Elaine), Jerry (Lois) and Donnie, all of Cadott; six daughters: Delores (Warren) Honadel of Augusta, June Noel, Bev (Frank) Dzienkowski, Susie (John) Hera, Donna (Jim) Dekan and Mary (Roland) Tichy, all of Cadott; two brothers, Claus of Madison, Henry of Chippewa Falls; three sisters, Ellen Roycraft of Eau Claire, Viola Larson of Fond du Lac, Bernice Johnson of Chippewa Falls; 37 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Betty Schofield; a brother, Otto; two sisters, Clara and Margaret.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gerald Herman officiating, with burial in Brooklawn Cemetery, both in Cadott.

Friends May call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott, and an hour before services at the church Saturday.
