Johnson, Morry D. (18 Aug. 1933 - 24 May 2004)

Morry D. Johnson, 70, of 621 17th Ave. S., Wisconsin Rapids, died Monday evening, May 24, 2004, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A private memorial service will be held on Thursday.

Mr. Johnson was born on Aug. 18, 1933, in Neillsville, the son of Gene and Ardeen (Paulson) Hart. He married Jean Harrington on Oct. 9, 1954, in Neillsville.

He was a meter-tester at Water Works and Lighting Commission in Wisconsin Rapids and retired in 1995.

He served his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a volunteer at the Food Pantry and loved golfing, cooking and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his wife, Jean of Wisconsin Rapids; two sons, Tod (Julie) Johnson of Wisconsin Rapids and their children, Katie and Amy, and Tim (Teri) Johnson of Wisconsin Rapids and their children Kayla and Tyler; and one sister, Mary (Loren) Christian of New Salem, N.D.

He was predeceased by his parents.

There will be no public visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials May be designated in Morry's name to the University of Wisconsin Cancer Center-Riverview in Wisconsin Rapids.

Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, is assisting the family.
