Wilcox: May 2, 1894

George Gardner purchased a yoke of oxen from S.W. Bolton last week for the snug little sum of $90. A whole bevy of young ladies visited teh school in Dist. No. 2 Wednesday and took tea with Maud Humiston. Chauncey Fowler went to the city one day last week to get his bicycle fixed up and ready for use. Several of our Good Templars visited the Granton lodge Wednesday evening and reported fine time. Dr. King of Fairchild, visited with his brother last week. Geo. and Willis Whalen have gone to Fairchild to work for the Foster Lumber Co. Reports say that the cheese factory will start up soon with S.D. Gibson at the head. Dr. W.B. Lyman of Galesville, called on patients a few days ago. J.J. Rowe, Sr. returned home from Plymouth Friday. A.P. Fulwiler and W.H. Rowe were sightseers at Granton Saturday. Dan Davidson returned from his visit in Northern Wisconsin Saturday and brought his aged mother with him. A pleasant suprise was given Lottie Hales Saturday afternoon by her cousin in honor of her birthday. Josie Vick was on the sick list last week. Miss Romaine of Loyal, opened school in Dist. No. 3 Monday. R. Lee and F. Tompkins of Granton made Center folks a call Saturday. While visiting last Sunday Elmer Redmond was taken suddenly ill and was hardly able to get home. Mrs. Alderman of Humbird, delivered the discourse at the F.M. church Sunday. J. Marsh of Spokeville and L. Graves of Loyal, exercised their wheels on our streets Thursday.
