Clark county residents have no kick coming on the winter so far. It has been mild in temperature, not exceeding twenty below at the most, and with just snow enough to make good sleighing. It augurs a prosperous year ahead.

"Our Old Neighbors" is the title we have given the department which hereafter will be devoted to items concerning former residents of Clark county. We trust it will be made the most of by those who once lived here and are now elsewhere, even if living in some adjoining county. It is the news of the "old timers" that every other "old timer" is looking for. Help them out and make this column of the Gleaner a pleasant meeting place for them. The latch string is out and you are all welcome. Come right in and be at home!

It will be most gratifying to the Clark county friends of Judge James O'Neill to learn of the enthusiasm with which his candidacy for the associate supreme judgeship is being received not only in his own and adjoining circuits, but throughout the state. His advancement has been gradual and as a just recognition of his ability as a lawyer and jurist. Beginning as a young attorney when the county was much newer than now he has developed with the county and is known by every one in the county; known as a just and upright man.
