Wiese, Robert C. (18 Jul 1949 - 26 Jan 2005)

Robert C. "Bob" Wiese, 55, died peacefully at his home, in the town of Sherman, Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 31, at Cornerstone Community Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Larry Jones and the Rev. Bruce Yahnke co-officiated. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Loyal. Pallbearers were Bill Booten, Ralph Prindle, Ben Slempkes, Jay Slempkes, John Wiggins and Steve Wiggins.

Robert Clarence Wiese was born on July 18, 1949, in Elgin, Ill., to Clarence and Doris (nee Johnson) Wiese. He was raised and educated in the Elgin area, graduating from Elgin High School in 1967. He enjoyed working on various farms that his parents worked and decided to be a dairy farmer at the age of 4. He purchased his first set of registered Holstein heifer twins at age 12, built up his herd, and at the age 22, went on his own. An unnamed disease destroyed that herd. He lost everything and had to take a job in town. He gladly accepted the offer of a job from John and William Selz and greatly enjoyed working with Joliam Holsteins, Humbird. After a few years, he went out on his own, purchasing a farm near Humbird, and beginning again to build a herd of registered Holsteins, . His first two registered Holsteins had been bred and owned by his father. He married Georgia Bilger on Nov. 26, 1993, at Countryside Evangelical Free Church, Merrilan. In August of 1995, they moved their dairy operation to Loyal, purchasing the farm of Daniel and LaVonda Gehman. He continued to build his herd and achieved a BAA of 107.4 in September of 2004. He loved the quality cows and devoted his whole life to building a good herd. In his younger years, he also found time to teach Sunday school, and lead a Bible study, play softball and was anchorman on his bowling team.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Georgia, Loyal; his daughter, Amanda [Chris] Grambsch, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; five stepchildren, John [Kim] Wiggins, Ham Lake, Minn., Steven [Sarah] Wiggins, Altoona; Kelly Slempkes, Washington D.C., Jay Slempkes, 10th Infantry Division, Iraq, and Ben Slempkes, Green Bay; ; his mother, Doris Wiese, Elgin, Ill.; two sisters, Karen [Anderson] Belt. South Elgin, Ill., and Emilie [William] Booten, Sandwich, Ill.; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; and his sister, Janet Hoff.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
