GEORGE E KUHN

George Edward Kuhn, age 89, of Sun City, AZ passed away on July 12, 2002 at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Sun City after a short battle with lung cancer.

He was born Aug. 15, 1913 to Robert and Melvina Kuhn in Shortville, south of Neillsville. George grew up on the family farm. He attended the Shortville School and graduated from the Neillsville High School in 1931.

George worked for General Motors Corp. for forty years with a two and one half year break to serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Upon retirement, George and Karoline moved to Sun City where he was a member of the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church. He was a very active member of the Sun Dial's Men's Club and the Oakmont Men's Club.

Surviving is his wife, Karoline; three sons, Robert of LaCrescenta, CA, Howard of Farmington Hills, MI and Richard of Fremont, MI; daughter Marion Lowes of Standish, MI and a stepdaughter Monika Christanson of Roseville, MN; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; two sisters, Gertrude Steffens of St. Charles, IL and Luella (Larry) Bartlett of Pittsburg, PA; a brother, Robert of Janesville; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding George in death was a daughter, Susan Mathewson, and a brother Bernard.

George enjoyed attending church services at the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton whenever he was in the Neillsville area.

A Memorial service for George will be held Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.
