MRS. FRED PRETSCH

Veda Irene Selves was born to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Selves in the town of Grant July 23, 1903 and passed away at the home of her parents Jan. 25, 1938, after two weeks illness with Bright's disease and anemia. When a child she suffered a stroke of paralysis, which handicapped her all through life, but with exceptional courage she faced every duty willingly and with no complaint.

Veda, whose home was in the township of Washburn, grew to young womanhood in the Town of Grant. On Nov. 21, 1923, she was married to Fred Pretsch at Neillsville. Four children were born to them. Richard, Walter, Esther and Marie, all of which with the father survive to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother.

Surviving also are her parents; brothers, Forrest and Lee and six sisters, Gladys of Monocqua, Orvilla (Earl) Zille of Neillsville, (first name is missing) wife of Wm Hintz, of Marshfield, (another missing name), Ruby and Ruth (twins) at home.

Funeral services were held Sat. Jan. 29, 1938, at 2 p.m. at Schiller's Funeral Home, with the Rev. G. W. Longenecker performing the rites. Burial took place in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Irving, Theamore, William and Ernest Vine, (missing name) Hubing, and Charles Hubing. A (missing name) Doughett of Minocqua and Mr. and Mrs. Wm Hintz of Marshfield were here for the funeral. Mrs. Hintz was here for several days assisting in the care of her sister.

(This was copied from an old yellowed clipping that came from an old scrapbook that my grandmother had and whoever cut it out, cut off the edge of the clipping, so I had to ask my mother for some information. Dolores)
