Mr. Fred Rahn died at his home 6 miles west and 2 miles north of Dorchester, Clark County, Wis., Wednesday, Aug. 5th, 1925, of cancer of the stomach, after an illness of about four years duration, at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 7 days.

The funeral was held Friday afternoon, a short service at the home and then at the German Reformed Church north of Curtiss, Rev. Rosenow of Colby officiating, and interment took place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Wm. Wagner, Charles Bitter, John Sturz, Frank Hamm, Wm. Burnsee, and Paul Voightlander acting as pallbearers.

Fred Rahn was born at Pommerain, Germany, Oct. 28, 1855, and was the son of Ferdinand and August Rahn.

In 1873 he came to the United States with his parents and settled in Milwaukee, where they lived three years, when they came to this section of Clark County to farm, and Mr. Rahn homesteaded his present farm in 1877. In May 1885, he united in marriage to Dora Ackerman, who died in 1886, leaving one child, Elizabeth, now Mrs. George Olson of Terrio, Montana.

June 15, 1888 he was again married, this time to Caroline Kenno at Eau Claire. Three children were born to them, Mrs. Emma Young of Park Falls, Elsie and Fred, who with their mother, survive him.

Mr. Rahn was not only interested in having a good farm, but he was also interested in all things for the good of the community and served as a town official on several occasions, and was a kind friend and neighbor and will be much missed by all who knew him.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. C. Young of Park Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dorn and daughter, Irene of Wilton, Wis., Fred Schmidt, Albert Schmidt, Elizabeth Jacot and Mrs. Fred Malke, all of Eau Claire.

The Clarion joins the many friends in offering sympathy to the bereaved.
