Landini, Ralph Joseph (26 Feb. 1939 - 11 Jan. 2005)

GREENWOOD - Ralph J. Landini, 65, of Greenwood died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood with the Rev. Joseph Follmar officiating.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Ralph Joseph Landini was born Feb. 26, 1939, in Chicago, the son of Louis and Mary (Perko) Landini. His family moved from Chicago to Willard in 1948, and began farming. Ralph grew up and was educated in the Willard area, and was a 1958 graduate of Greenwood High School.

Ralph was united in marriage May 7, 1960, to Kathleen "Kay" Barnes at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood. Ralph held various jobs at area businesses, including North Hendren Cheese, Greenwood Co-op and Clark Electric, before starting his own business with Ron Tieman - Landini-Tieman Realty & Auction - which later became Landini Realty & Auction Service.

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed golfing, auctions, people, announcing ball games at Greenwood High School and for softball tournaments, playing softball, and hunting.

Ralph was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was active in the Greenwood community where he was a former member of the Greenwood Lions Club, the Greenwood Fire Department, the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and served on the Greenwood School Board from April 1992 until April 2001. He also was active in Clark County, where he served on the Clark County Board of Supervisors from April 1992 until April 2004, three of those years as chairman.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Kay, of Greenwood; four sons, Patrick (Jayne) of Sun Prairie, Dion (Jackie) of Marshfield, Dominic (Brenda) of Spring, Texas, and Eric (Julie) of Loyal; nine grandchildren; one brother, Louis (Gwen) of Greenwood; two sisters, Lucille Kaltinger of Eau Claire and Virginia Thomas of Chicago; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard and Robert.

Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
