Happe, Lydia C. (25 May 1862 - 26 Sep 1947)

Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. - Funeral services have been set tentatively Monday afternoon for Mrs. W. R. Happe, Sr., 85, who died at 7:1- p.m. Friday at her home at Chili.

The Rev. S. A. Gutknecht, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, will conduct the 1:45 o'clock service at the family home and the 2 o'clock service at the church, after which interment will take place in the church cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Georgas Funeral Home at Neillsville until Sunday, when it will be taken to the Happe home.

Funeral services for Mrs. W. R. Happe Sr., 85 who died at 7:10 p.m. Friday at her home in Chili, were held at 1:45 o'clock this afternoon at the home of the deceased and at 2 o'clock at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Chili. The Rev. S. A. Gutknecht officiated at the services and burial took place in the church cemetery.

The former Lydia Messner was was born May 25, 1862, at Lomira, where she received her education and was united in marriage to W. R. Happe Sr. on Nov. 16, 1887. They came to Chili in 1900 and resided on a farm until 1930, when they moved to the village of Chili. She was a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society and of the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Surviving Mrs. Happe are three daughters, Miss Alma Happe, Rochelle, Ill., Miss Elda Happe, Eau Claire, Mrs. Albert (Irene) Lindow, Chili, and one son, William Happe, Chili. Five grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1944, two sisters, and four brothers.
