Obit: Boyer, Arvid "Bob" (1910 - 2004)

Arvid 'Bob' Boyer, age 84, of Neillsville, died July 1, at St. Joseph's Hospital of Marshfield where he had been a patient for four days.

Bob Boyer was born May 21, 1920 in Neillsville to George and Mildred (Flick) Boyer. He was educated at Worchel School in the Town of Sief and then farmed with his parents. Bob married Dona Jane Spencer on Aug. 16, 1947 at the Lutheran parsonage. After marriage Bob farmed and worked for Otto Roehl, then farmed at Christie. Bob was employed at Nelson Muffler in Niellsville, retiring in 1983. Bob was also a softball manager for various leagues.

Bob is survived by two sons, Larry (Sue) Boyer and Bruce (Betty) Boyer, both of Neillsville; three daughters, Brenda (Ivan) Ruzic of Willard; Shari (Jerome) Ryba of Curtis; Kari (Ronald) Waltemate, of Neillsville; three brothers, Marvin (Ruth) Boyer, of Neillsville, Chuck (Bernice) Boyer of Neillsville, Earl Boyer, of Boston, Mass.; two sisters, Neva Howard of Marshfield, Jean Bedell of St. Paul, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; extended family, Jim, Mary kay, and Katie Mills.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Dona Jane on Nov. 29, 2001; one sister, Adeline Senecal; two brothers, Wallace and Jim Boyer, and two brothers-in-law, Ted Howard, and Bob Bedell.

Buchanan Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted the family with arrangements.
