Selk, Ronald T. (4 July 1937 - 28 Nov. 1992)

Ronald T. Selk, 55, Chili, town of Fremont, Clark County, was pronounced dead on arrival at 11:35 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 1992, in the Emergency Room of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili. The Rev. Herbert Biermann officiated. Delores Wolf was organist for congregational singing.

Burial was in Yolo Cemetery, Chili. Pallbearers were Tom Brian Cliver, Kenneth and Mike Lovstad, Alvord Selk Jr., and Lawrence Behling.

Ronald Selk was born July 4, 1937, in Neillsville, the son of Ruby Selk. He attended elementary school in Marshfield School district and was a 1956 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He married Sonja Lovstad July 19, 1958, at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili.

He lived in Chili all of his life. After the death of his mother when he was six months old, he was raised by his grandmother Minnie Selk, and his uncle Charles Selk. After high school, he entered the National Guard and served in Battery B, 2nd Howitzer Bn, 121st Artillery. He then was employed by Roddis Plywood Corp., later Weyerhaeuser Co., for 15 years. He had worked for Land O’Lakes for the last 20 years and was a foreman at the time of his death.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Chili, and served there as a trustee. He was also a member of the Chili Volunteer Fire Department, the soft ball team of Chili and the Chili Roadrunners Snowmobile Club.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Steven and Jeffrey, both of Chili, two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Sarah) Nickel of Chili and Mrs. Paul (Janet) Wolf of Pittsville, and three grandchildren.

Memorials May be designated to the family who will established a memorial at the later time.
